This Privacy Policy applies to Float Timer, Clock & Stopwatch for Android (package name com.github.xckevin927.android.floattimer), provided by Kai Liu (“the app”, “we”, or “us”).

Summary

The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. It works offline, does not require an account, contains no advertising, and does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the timers and display preferences you create, including timer mode, duration or target time, notes, colors, text size, and selected date or time fields. This information remains in the app’s private storage on your device and is used only to provide the app’s features.

The app does not send this information to the developer or to third parties.

Android Backup

If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include the app’s locally stored data in your device backup. This backup is controlled by your device and Google account settings and is handled by the Android platform. The developer cannot access it.

You can remove the app’s local data by clearing its storage in Android Settings or by uninstalling the app. Backup controls are available in your device settings.

Display Over Other Apps Permission

The app requests the Android Display over other apps permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) solely to show the floating clock, stopwatch, and countdown windows you create.

This permission does not allow the app to read the contents of other apps, capture your screen, read what you type, or collect your activity in other apps. The app uses it only to draw the timer windows above other apps. You can revoke the permission at any time in Android Settings; floating windows will then stop working.

Network Access and Third-Party Services

The app does not request Android’s Internet permission and does not transmit app data over the network. It does not integrate advertising, analytics, tracking, or cloud-storage services.

Google Play distributes the app and may process information independently under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. That processing is not performed by the app.

Children’s Privacy

The app is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Security

Because app data stays in the app’s private storage, it is protected by Android’s application sandbox and the security controls of your device. No method of local storage is completely risk-free, so you should keep your device and Android version up to date.
